The present article intends to identify the main interpretive standards applied by
the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in the matter of death penalty, for this purpose,
the jurisprudence that the judicial body has dictated in this regard will be analyzed; having
as a normative framework the American Convention on Human Rights.
