This article seeks to identify the characteristics that make de Foucauldian belliose grid specific, explain the uses that the thinker himself has made of it, review the theoretical benefits that follow from it and consider its potential to target events of current local incidence. In this regard, it is intended to argue that even though, in our days, the relations of force in Western societies have been invested in the order of political power, the grid of war continues to be valid at the time of making intelligible their antagonisms.

An ethical ground in Estlund’s epistemic procedimentalism?

In this article it is argued that Estlund’s epistemic proceduralism, as a democratic model, requires minimum ethical dispositions that are not explicitly stated in the proposal. I will address the notion of Macpherson’s democratic model to illustrate this point. With this, it is noted that the minimum ethical disposition for this democratic model, which would shape an implicit ethical ground in epistemic proceduralism, are three: a disposition towards the knowledge involving the process; another towards the democratic procedure itself; and finally, one towards the recognition of the legitimacy of the results.

The characterization of ethics postulated by Foucault in his latest research clashes with the conception of the subject of his early writings, where the subject is presented as the patient of the various institutional pressures that shape him. The present text proposes to delimit the tensions that arise when contrasting both conceptions. To this end, the particularities of ethics in Foucault will be outlined, in order to then outline the oppositions that it finds in the regulations of the field of power relations. Through this inquiry, we will seek to answer the question of whether ethical life is possible in Foucauldian philosophy.

In The Hermeneutics of the Subject, Foucault maintains that, in the culture of the self, pedagogy and psychagogy existed as two forms of education, differentiated by virtue of the ethopoietic purpose of each one. However, it is not clear what this means since the distinction is made without clarification of the framework in which it takes place. In this sense, we propose to highlight the constitutive aspects of psychagogy, establishing a problematization of the way in which ethopoiesis itself is understood here, through which we will try to explain its reference to the concepts of veridiction and self-care.

Contiguity of democracy and stasis in Aristotle's Politics

The aim of the study presented in this article is to give an account of the connection that Aristotle establishes between stasis and democracy in Book V of the Politics. Basic conditions for the occurrence of stasis in a democracy are the existence of both elementary inequality within the city and the action of a demagogue who exploits this reality and the sense of injustice perceived by the poor. Stasis in democracy, according to a comprehensive analysis of the Politics, never leads to a politically better or more stable situation.

How to understand the state of exception? Paradigm of government or symptom of the crisis of our political forms?

This article makes a critical approach to the concept of state of exception. Its purpose is to address the problematic boundary between democracy and dictatorship, challenging thesis such as that of Giorgio Agamben that affirm the existence of a zone of indeterminacy between democracy and absolutism. The hypothesis is that, if we expand Agamben's conceptual analysis, instead of seeing the state of exception as an area of anomie between democracy and dictatorship, we can see the need for emergencies to have some type of legal provision through which to determine the limits between these two different forms of government.

Teaching practice as a modern exercise in our present

We are faced with a reality endowed with great richness thanks to the diversity it presents, a reality that is not foreign to school institutions and that, at times, seems not to be understood and accepted by a part of societies considered postmodern. This article raises a reflection on the teaching performance that, beyond being a transmitter of knowledge, acts as a trainer of citizens. It is postulated that the school is a space where plurality coexists, revealing the lack of social equity and, therefore, educational inequality.

Pragmatics of social conflict

The social ontology developed by Searle allow us to understand social phenomena from the theory of speech acts. This article exposes Searle´s theory and analyzes the conception of social conflict from this perspective, arguing that it can be understood as the dispute between different communities for the legitimacy of some status function. To achieve this, the theory of speech acts will be reviewed to show that social conflict could be analyzed from this perspective, identifying the intentionality of communities in conflict through linguistic statements.
